Summer is finally here; open studio season is in full swing and the craft fairs we all know, and love are back and better than ever. This month’s cover art is by the fabulous #Craftfolk Cardiff's leading creative events company. With Craft fairs in Cardiff central, Cardiff Bay and Barry Island, you can always count on them for an incredible array of talented artists and makers.
Hereford's premiere annual open studio event h-Art is nearly here and both Apple Store Gallery in Hereford and Made in the Marches in Kington, have some amazing exhibitions to look forward to.
Over in the beautiful Hay-on-Wye Bluestone Gallery once again have an enviable collection of all kinds of wonderful art and handmade goodies. New to our pages are Oil & Oak Gift Shop and Gallery, this great venue is not only run by an artist but also hosts art classes too as well stocking an incredible variety of creative and sustainable gift ideas.
Up in Caernarfon the bright and beautiful Life: Full Colour Gallery have some amazing exhibitions to look forward to, including that of West Wales native, Jill Jones Fine Art. Usually known for her seascapes, Jill will be exhibiting (and has already sold some of her work before the exhibition officially launched!) a showcase of botanical art, from bold mesmerising poppies by the sea to vibrant pink coastal paths.
Our favourite handcrafted footstools are back, #Ewemoo and they will be attending lots of events throughout the summer, including Cardiff's international food festival and many more. Brand new to our pages is a wonderful venue, Queen Street Gallery in Neath. A gallery known for its exceptional contemporary art, don't miss their 'Women At War' exhibition, held at Studio 40.
For art classes by a selection of Britain's finest artists, Chapel Cottage Studio in Abergavenny is the perfect spot to learn new skills, they even offer lunch!
